PESA Memberships: What's changing

Wellbeing is a whole-school job. Now your whole school can be a PESA member.

Wellbeing is a whole-school job.
Now your whole school can be a PESA member.

We are excited to let you know about important changes to our memberships, which take effect on Thursday 22nd October.

Our members told us wellbeing can’t sit with one person in a school. Wellbeing support should reach every educator, not just a few names on a membership. So from 22nd October, PESA Group Membership opens to every staff member at your school or organisation. One membership will cover teachers, leaders, counsellors and support staff. There are no more staff caps.

Whats Changing-1

TLDR:  Watch this explainer video

Why we’re making this change

For a long time, members have told us that wellbeing can’t sit with one person in a school. Opening membership to every staff member means:

  • Access for your whole team. For group memberships, every staff member will join our community and have access to PESA’s online and on-demand professional learning, and the Resource Hub, with their own login.

  • A lower cost per person. For a typical school with 70 teaching staff, membership works out at about $12 per staff member a year, compared with $131 previously.

This change allows us support more educators, grow capacity of our sector, and ultimately accelerate the prioritisation of evidence-informed wellbeing education for the future of Australians.

What this means for you

  • Group Membership (current Institutional, Institutional Large and Corporate members): These three membership types will combine into a single Group Membership. The 5 and 25 staff caps are being removed, so every staff member at your school or organisation can join with their own login.

  • Student members: Membership becomes FREE (previously $33 a year). We will ask you to confirm your student status, which is a new process.

  • Individual members: No major changes. If your membership has a separate billing contact, that contact won’t move to the new system, and you will become the billing contact.

New Group Membership pricing: Fair pricing, strong value

As part of moving to the new group structure, along with the increased cost of living and operating, we have needed to increase our membership fees for the first time in four years. The PESA Board has worked hard to find a new pricing structure that is equitable, affordable for schools, and reflective of our association’s increased operating costs

From 22nd October, Group Membership will be priced according to the number of teaching staff at your school, using MySchool data.

Your membership is what keeps a National voice for wellbeing education strong. Thank you for continuing to support PESA, a not-for-profit public company and a registered charity working hard to shift the landscape on wellbeing across the nation.

Pricing of other membership types

  • Student membership becomes FREE for eligible full-time students. Refer to the Student Membership policy below.

  •  Individual members remain unchanged at $109 per year.

Key dates

  • 20th October: The old account area and Member Dashboard close. Online member services will be unavailable for two days while we securely complete the move.

  • 22nd October: Our new Member Portal opens and new pricing applies. You will receive an email inviting you to set up your account and new login. Please do this within a week, and keep your details secure. They will be different from your current login.

  • Then (for group memberships): Once you are set up, invite colleagues from the ‘My Account’ page. Your membership manager is notified each time someone joins, so you can always see who is on your membership.

We’re here to help

We suggest you read our full FAQs and new membership policies so you know exactly how the new memberships work.

If you have a question that isn’t answered there, we would love to hear from you.

We’re a small team making a big change, so there may be the odd hiccup. If anything isn’t working, tell us at contact@pesa.edu.au and we will fix it as soon as possible.

We believe this change adds real value to your membership, alongside the new Member Portal and Resource Hub. Thank you for being part of PESA and for everything you do for staff and student wellbeing.

Warm regards,
Lisa Davias, CEO,  and the PESA Board
