2026 Membership Changes FAQ’s
We are making important changes to our membership structure to improve value for our members. Please read the FAQs below to learn about the changes.
The change, at a glance
We are changing our membership structure, which affects everyone on an Institutional, Institutional Large, Corporate and Student membership.
Institutional, Institutional Large and Corporate memberships are combining into one simple Group Membership, and we are removing the 5 and 25 staff caps, meaning all staff at your school or organsaition will now be included. Teachers, leaders, counsellors and support staff can all have their own login to PESA's professional learning, resources and updates.
Alongside this, we're increasing our membership fees, our first increase in four years. Group Membership will cost $700 to $950 a year (including GST), based on your number of teaching staff, so smaller schools pay less. Student membership will become free, and you will manage your membership in our new Member Portal, alongside the Resource Hub we launched in August.
Members told us wellbeing can't sit with one person in a school. Wellbeing support should reach every educator, not just a few names on a membership, so we've opened Group Membership to your whole staff.
Moving to this whole-school structure, along with the rising cost of living and operating, means we have needed to increase our fees. As an independent not-for-profit, your membership is what keeps a national voice for wellbeing education strong, and the PESA Board has worked hard to set pricing that is fair, affordable for schools and reflects our operating costs. Because membership now covers every staff member, the cost per staff member has dropped sharply: a typical school with 70 teaching staff pays about $12 per staff member a year, down from $131.
Our strategic objective is to create greater value for our members and greater impact for wellbeing education across Australia.
Greater value for members. One membership now covers every staff member, so your whole team, not a select few, can use PESA's professional learning and resources. Every staff member gets their own login, so nothing has to be passed on.
Greater impact through more educators. Opening membership to whole schools, and making it free for student teachers, means PESA's work reaches many more educators, and through them, more students. Your membership also funds our national advocacy, so wellbeing educators are represented to government, the media and the public.
Membership structure
These three membership types are combining into one simple Group Membership. We are also removing the staff-number limit that applied before (previously 5 or 25, depending on membership type). Your Group Membership will be open to all staff at your school, institution or organisation.
Student membership for full-time students is now free (previously $33 per year), so the next generation starts their career connected. To qualify, we will verify full-time student status, which is a check we haven't applied before.
No major changes to Individual memberships. One thing to be aware of: if your membership currently has a separate billing contact, that contact won't carry across to the new system. The person holding the membership will become the billing contact going forward.
If anything changes for your specific arrangement, we will be in touch with you directly and personally. You don't need to do anything unless you hear from us.
Pricing
Every Group Membership has the same standard base cost. A variable cost is then added based on the number of teaching staff at your school, reflecting MySchool data: base cost + variable cost = membership price.
The number of teaching staff is verified against current MySchool data.
Organisations not captured in MySchool data (international schools, VET/TAFE institutions, universities and other non-schools) are automatically priced at Level 4. Not-for-profit organisations and charities classified as small with the ACNC are priced at Level 1.
Your level is based on your number of teaching staff as recorded in MySchool data. If your organisation isn't captured in MySchool data, or you believe your level looks wrong, contact us and we will check it with you.

The previous Institutional, Institutional Large and Corporate memberships, and their prices, are being retired, so there isn’t an option to stay on the old structure. Every school and organisation moves to the new Group Membership, priced by size rather than by the number of logins.
Your Group Membership covers all your staff, but how widely you share it is up to you. You can start with a few people and invite others when you’re ready. Smaller schools pay less (Level 1 is $700 a year), and the membership is there whenever more of your team want to use it.
If you already have a renewal invoice open with us, you keep the price on that invoice. And if cost is a concern, please talk to us (see below).
If you renewed at a lower price than the new pricing: good news. You keep the price you’ve paid until your next renewal, and you still get whole-school access from 29 October. The new Group Membership price applies from your next renewal.
If you renewed at a higher price than the new pricing (for example, an Institutional Large membership): you will be eligible for the lower Group Membership price at your next renewal. We aren’t offering full or partial refunds for memberships already paid at the previous prices, but from 22nd October your membership covers every staff member, not just up to 25. If you’d like to talk this through, please contact us.
All membership prices include GST, except for international members, where GST does not apply.
For most members, this represents stronger value. For example, a typical school with 70 teaching staff on a Level 3 membership pays $850 a year. That works out at about $12 per staff member per year (or $1 per staff member per month) for access to PESA's professional learning and resources, compared with $131 per staff member previously, because membership now covers your whole staff, not a capped number.
No school should miss out because of budget. If cost is a barrier, please reach out for a conversation. We actively seek funding to support member schools that need it.
Key dates and access
From 20 October, the current member area and dashboard will be switched off ahead of the move, this means PESA's online member services will be unavailable for two days while we securely complete the transfer. From 22 October, the new system goes live and you will receive an email inviting you to set up your account and new login details.
Only the brief, two-day window between 20 and 22 October, while we move everything across securely. We will keep you posted if anything changes.
From 22 October, set up your account and new login details when you receive the invitation email. Keep these details secure, they will be different from your previous login.
If your renewal falls between 15 September and 22 October, we would have already contacted your membership owner directly with what applies to your renewal and a clear deadline, so nothing lapses. If you would like to renew early and lock in current pricing ahead of the change, get in touch and we can talk through your options before 19 October.
No. If you join before 19 October, we will make sure you have certainty on which pricing and terms apply, and you won't be disadvantaged by the new structure landing shortly after you join.
Managing your membership
Once your account is set up, head to the 'My Account' page to invite other team members to join. If you are an account holder, you will be notified each time someone joins, which helps keep your membership limited to your own school's staff.
